Love Notes from Abby- On Worry and Rocking Chairs

Transcript:

Welcome to Love Notes with Abby. I hope you are having a great day.

Today we are going to be talking about worry, stress, anxiety, all those fun things.

I love what Erma Bombeck has to say about worry.

She says, “Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but you never get to anywhere.”

Ooh, isn't that the truth?

But I have to say that one of the things that I hear and see everywhere I look, it's where people are fearful and worried about all the things.

Is that you?

Do you worry about, well, whatever's going to be happening during your day?

I think it's one of the easiest traps to fall in to.

Today we're going to look at Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
— Joshua 1:9

It's pretty powerful verse. So, instead of me telling you all my thoughts about Joshua 1:9, your charge for today is I want you to ponder on Joshua 1:9 all day long.

As you go about your day, when you find yourself worrying about some something or something that is happening or something that might happen or something that did happen, I want that verse to just ring in your ears.

“Have I not commanded you. Be Strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you, where ever you go.”

And then, after you have pondered on Joshua 1:9, what I'd like you to do is to either leave a comment below or email me, and I want you to tell me what that means to you.

I want you to tell me what the Lord's revealing to you.

Throughout your day, when you find yourself worrying or you find yourself fearful of something or you find yourself feeling very alone, I want you to quote Joshua 1:9 to yourself.

Then, I want you to tell me what you're learning, what you're thinking, and what God is revealing to you.

Okay, so that's it. We are going to claim Joshua 1:9 today, and then we're going to talk more about it tomorrow.

I hope you have a fantastic rest of the day.

God loves you. I love you. Now go take on your day.
