Love Notes from Abby: Your Truth -vs- The Truth
Transcript:
Good morning. I hope your day is off to a great start. Today we're going to be looking at John 14:6.
This is the verse that I want you to ponder on throughout your day, and as you're pondering it, I want you to look at it from the lens of what the world seems to be screaming at us. Live your truth, speak your truth.
I mean, it sounds great, right?
I mean it's all about us. What we think is valued, what we think is important, that we're going to live our truth, but then when we look at it from the perspective of what the Bible says, we see that our truth doesn't always align with the truth.
Proverbs 14:12 gives us this warning,
With the loud, loud world that is screaming at us and is imploring us to live by worldly standards and a worldly view, it's more important than ever that we get back into the truth. That we test everything that we hear against what God says.
What does God have to say about it?
I urge you to test everything that I say, never take what I say as the Gospel unless I am actually quoting the Bible.
There's absolutely no one in this world that we can trust 100% except Jesus. And so that's really what I want y'all to do today. I want you to really ponder John 14:6.
I'd even like us all to try and memorize it.
So for the rest of the week, we're going to really be digging into that scripture.
And I want you to start taking notice of how many times throughout the day, on social media, on television, and all these different places, even in conversation, I want you to start taking notice of how many times you hear, live your truth. Speak your truth.
That is what happens. It's like the frog in the frying pan. It's little by little by little. It's time that we become very aware of it in order to combat the world's truth then we have to be in the truth.
So that is your charge for today.
I want you to really pay attention to how many times you see it. How many times do you hear it?
And then we're going to meet back here tomorrow. And like I said, we're going to dig in to John 14:6 and really delve into what God says about the truth.
All right, my friends go take on your day.
